Jeff is a co-founder and partner at Excella Consulting. He is an information technology
professional with 16 years of consulting experience, including strategy, architecture,
program management, and systems development using various technologies and methodologies.
He works with clients in the financial services, telecommunications, Internet/e-commerce, government,
and manufacturing industries. As a strategic advisor to many clients, he provides guidance on vision
and direction for high profile, complex programs.
Jeff’s corporate role within Excella enhances Excella’s ability to deliver quality solutions for
its clients. He creates a strong culture of learning and continuous improvement to ensure the firm
maintains its consistently excellent service delivery even as the size, scope, and complexity of
its projects increase. In support of this philosophy, Jeff directs Excella’s Centers of Excellence
for Project Management, Agile, Microsoft, and Java with the mission of improving service delivery.
The Centers of Excellence provide deep subject matter expertise to Excella’s client engagements and
rich professional development opportunities for Excella’s employees.
Jeff also leads Excella’s Extension Center (XC) located in Blacksburg, VA. The XC provides remote
service delivery to Excella’s clients at a lower cost with consistently high quality by combining full-time,
experienced resources with part-time students from technical programs at Virginia Tech.
Prior to co-founding Excella, Jeff served as the Director of Technology Strategy and member of the executive
team of the DC office of Idea Integration, an information technology consulting firm. While in this role, he
defined the technology strategy for the office, managed the office’s technology partnerships, led a team of
technical architects, and provided technical support for company-wide business development efforts. He also successfully
launched a creative services group for the office to complement its systems integration and implementation services.
Jeff began his career at AMS (now CGI) doing custom systems implementations at various federal clients.
Jeff graduated at the top of his engineering class at the University of
Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Systems Engineering.
