Burton is a co-founder and Partner at Excella Consulting. He has over 19 years experience in business and information technology consulting, specializing in defining and implementing information technology strategies. He has served clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including hospitality, financial services, energy, telecommunications, internet/e-commerce, and the federal government.
Burton’s corporate role within Excella is focused on marketing and communications. In this role, Burton directs programs to promote Excella’s unique culture and foster strong client and community relationships.
Burton also created and directs ImpaX, Excella’s innovative community service program. Through ImpaX, Excella partners with Homestretch, Inc. to help homeless families obtain self-sufficiency, family stability, and permanent affordable housing. ImpaX is a unique and holistic program through which Excella employees contribute time, money, expertise and leadership to Homestretch.
Prior to co-founding Excella, Burton served as a Senior Practice Director and member of the executive team of Perspective Technology Corporation (now Idea Integration), an information technology consulting firm. During his tenure, Burton helped grow Perspective from 36 employees and $3 million in revenue to 140 employees and $24 million in revenue. Burton also served as the Director of Market Expansion, successfully defining and executing business plans to start consulting operations in two new markets. Burton started his career in the Change Management practice of Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Burton was an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia. He graduated with distinction (equivalent to cum laude), earning a Bachelor of Arts.
Burton serves on the Board of Directors of Homestretch.
